Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of Surv. Saifillahi Umar Masanawa as the new Surveyor General of the state.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, follows the retirement of the former Surveyor General, Surv. Farouk Ammani, from the State Civil Service last year.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the appointment was conveyed through the office of the Head of Civil Service.

Governor Radda expressed confidence in Masanawa’s capacity to serve the state with dedication and to drive reforms that will reposition the Office of the Surveyor General for greater efficiency and productivity.

Surv. Masanawa holds a Bachelor of Technology (Hons) degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Land Surveying. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (NIS) and a registered surveyor with the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).

The Governor congratulated the new Surveyor General and urged him to uphold professionalism, innovation, and integrity in his new role.

Radda added that the appointment is expected to further strengthen land administration in Katsina and enhance ongoing development initiatives in critical sectors.

He also charged Masanawa to align his work with the administration’s Building Your Future agenda, which prioritises transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery.
